Mental Health Systems, Inc. Turns Focus to Broader Behavioral Health Services

July 11, 2022 – Mental Health Systems, Inc. (MHS), one of California’s leading agencies providing behavioral health services, announced today that its name and brand would be updated to better reflect the comprehensive services that the agency has grown to provide. Beginning July 2022, the agency will begin transitioning from MHS to TURN Behavioral Health Services.

“MHS was established more than forty years ago to improve the lives of individuals, families, and communities struggling with mental health and substance abuse,” said Jeanette Sanchez, Board Chair for MHS/TURN Behavioral Health Services. “Our services and our reach have expanded substantially over the last several years, and now is the time to update our identity to better reflect the comprehensive services we offer.”

“In the past three years, mental health support, access to housing and health care, and substance use intervention have all become more essential, especially for the most vulnerable segments of our communities,” said James C. Callaghan Jr., CEO and President of MHS/TURN Behavioral Health Services. “Our continuum of client care in behavioral health services is comprehensive, individualized and compassionate, and we are ready to meet the challenges that our communities face.”

The decision to update the organization’s name was made to better reflect the breadth of services the organization provides throughout California. The term “behavioral health services” is also more representative of the more holistic approach taken by the organization that encompasses a broader range of safety net services.

While our name is changing, what has not changed is our commitment to improving lives through providing quality programs.
