Community and School Based Program
Mental Health
The Community and School Based Program provides mental health services at eleven schools in the San Diego Unified School District. The aim is to help students achieve success by overcoming difficulties related to academics, anxiety, alcohol or substance use, depression and ADHD, among other issues. Services include individual and family therapy, case management and referrals to community resources, and psychiatric and medication evaluation and monitoring. Program staff work closely with students on goals, performance improvement, and strategies to reduce school-related problems, while therapists meet weekly with teachers or counselors to ensure integrated services are delivered.
